Peachtree old fart golf
classic
Overview
Game on! With dates now firmly set, the Peachtree Old Fart Golf Classic is prepared to carry on beginning this Friday, August 5. First up, Putt Putt, with the 54 hole event set to start at a yet to TBD early afternoon time preceded by an appropriately dignified opening ceremony. $30 and the coveted Melton Cup is at stake. The Par 3 round is expected to be played later Friday evening, with Saturday and Sunday reserved for real golf at two local tracks: Highland Lake Golf Club and Crooked Creek Golf Club (no web sites).
This classic is a quadathlon, with each event carrying a
different scoring/payoff weights. The four events in order of importance are
1) Two 18 hole rounds of championship level golf at two
different venues---both local courses---nearby
and
personally scouted for suitability.
2) One 18 hole round of "par 3" golf. There are two nearby, one is lit for night play.
3) Three 18 hole rounds of Putt Putt in Spartanburg. They also have a college/rookie/minor league team. See schedule.
4) Video Golf. Exact game or platform TBD.
